What We Do

We make silkscreen and cyanotype prints, by hand, from original illustrations and photography in our home studio. Specializing in limited run and one of a kind prints, each project is meticulously planned starting with a digital file, hand illustration, photography or a combination of these. Then, we begin our prepress process by making color separations, preparing our screens and/or paper, mixing colors and making sure everything is in alignment. Finally, we start printing. Our screen printing process involves hand pulling ink over a series of screens, one at a time to ensure the image is visually complete after the final screen. Cyanotype prints require a chemically treated paper that is exposed to a photo negative, then placed in a stop bath to fully develop.

FAQS

  • Silkscreen printing, also known as screen printing, is a versatile and vibrant printing technique ideal for creating high-quality prints. In this process, a fine mesh screen is used to transfer ink onto a surface, allowing for precise and detailed designs. Each color is applied one at a time, resulting in rich, layered compositions with vivid colors and crisp lines. The durability of the ink makes silkscreen prints long-lasting and suitable for various applications, from fine art prints to promotional materials. With its ability to reproduce intricate designs with consistency, silkscreen printing offers timeless appeal and value to art enthusiasts and collectors alike.
